Who we are:

• An ecumenical outreach ministry started by the Episcopal Diocese of SD. We began our ministry in June of 2017.
• We provide hot showers every Tuesday (except the 5^th Tuesday of the month); breakfast, a change of clothing (including underwear and socks), haircuts, medical services, laundry services (1^st and 3^rd Tues) and camaraderie.
• We have partnered with the SoCal Care Community nurse training program which runs a medical clinic with supervised nursing students. We also have volunteer physicians and Nurse Practitioners.
• We are also supported by parishioners, businesses and organizations in the community who provide coffee and food each week, including our own St. Patrick Knights of Columbus.
• Mostly it is a safe place to come, relax a bit and be accepted.

We need the showers to help those who are down on their luck get a lift up, and to restore some dignity and hope in their lives.

In 2018 we, along with 4 other churches, ran a very successful donation campaign to purchase another shower trailer and truck to serve North County. We have been operating with that unit since Sept. 2018. We offer showers here in Carlsbad on Tuesdays and in Encinitas at St Andrews Episcopal Church on Saturdays. We are still looking for other churches or organizations to get involved with sponsoring the program on their sites.

We serve between 40 & 50 individuals every week, and provide on an average 25 Showers, 10 haircuts, 43 clothes handouts, and 12 medical services each week.
 

We have over 30 volunteers who volunteer 1-4 times per month and we are so grateful for all of them. They are angels. We also have more than 30 food volunteers who donate food items once a month. - men’s or women’s jeans

- hoodie sweatshirts and jackets

- t-shirts (short sleeve in summer, long sleeve in winter)

- men’s underwear

- woman’s underwear and sport bras

- sleeping bags

- backpacks

- walking shoes with decent soles
