Welcome to St. Patrick Catholic Community!

St Patrick Catholic Church, located in the heart of Carlsbad, is the foundation of our Catholic community. Our Roman Catholic Community is part of the Diocese of San Diego in beautiful Southern California.

Established in 1943, we are a faith-centered family, serving spiritual and temporal needs by proclaiming the Christian Message of God's love.

For over seventy years we have been a vital part of Carlsbad, helping our parishioners and the community at large.

Our Catholic Community is under the Pastoral Care of priests from the Congregation of Jesus and Mary, better known as the Eudists Fathers. They owe their name to Saint John Eudes who founded the congregation in France in 1643. They share and enliven the life of our parish with their call to Formation and Evangelization.

Share the life of our community, you belong here, because we all belong to Christ.

COVID UPDATE (1/23/22)

Dear Parishioners,

Everyone is concerned about the rapid spread of the Covid virus in recent days. We have a significant number of parishioners and a few staff members who either have the virus or are in quarantine because of contact with someone who tested positive.

You know that my primary concern remains to provide a safe environment in which we can celebrate the Eucharist. In order to add a measure of protection for those who attend Mass at St. Patrick Church, the following changes are in place for this weekend:

  • There will be no singing at any of our Masses.
  • The Sunday Masses at 11:00 am (English) and 1:00 pm (Spanish) will be celebrated outdoors on the covered court of the school.

Those who are concerned about being inside the church should attend one of those Masses. No Mass will be held in the church at those times. Masks are required for everyone at all Masses, both inside and outside.

I encourage everyone to receive Holy Communion in the hand. During the coming week, we will evaluate the situation and communicate any further changes via this email. Please pass along this information to your family and friends, especially those who do not receive our email communication.

Please be careful and stay safe.

In one Heart,

Fr. Ron

“Should I go to Mass this weekend?”
Many faithful wrestle with this question, amid the latest news on the coronavirus. But perhaps answering the question, “Why should I go to Mass?” and understanding the blessings of encountering the real presence of Christ will offer the compelling reason to attend Mass in person.
